Everything people ask before their first Tuesday. If yours isn't here, ask in the WhatsApp community — someone answers fast.
No. You can come alone and learn by playing. The KDA community naturally talks, encourages and helps one another during the games. We recommend the Social Court for first-timers because the pace is gentler, and first-timer immunity helps you stay involved while you learn.
No. Come alone or bring friends — teams are mixed on the night and remixed between games. You'll play alongside most of the room over two hours.
Sports clothes you can move in, court shoes with non-marking soles, and plenty of water. Drinks are also available at the venue.
Balls, bibs and referees are provided. Nothing else needed.
RM10 for regular players and RM5 if it's your first KDA session. Bring two first-timers with you and you get an RM5 voucher.
Anyone attending their first KDA session, including experienced players joining our community for the first time. After that one session you're a regular.
Registering as a first-timer when you're a returning player means being removed from the session without a refund, so please pick honestly.
The minimum age for KDA activities is 14. A specific tournament or event may set a higher minimum age in its published entry requirements.
It's a fast sport, but games are played in short bursts and teams rotate between rounds. Go at your own pace and tell a committee member if you need to sit a round out.
Yes. Turning up to watch a session before committing is a good way in, and it costs nothing.
Players aged 14–17 need a parent or guardian's consent to take part. Email us at dodgeballkuching2022@gmail.com before your first session, or if a parent or guardian is there with you on the night, they can give consent in person instead.
Yes — drop-in sessions are open to anyone aged 14 and over regardless of nationality. Tournaments may follow eligibility rules set by the Malaysian Association of Dodgeball; ask us if that affects you.
No — sessions run mainly in English, and there's always someone around to help if you're more comfortable in another language.
Yes, but it can get tight on a busy night. Give yourself a few extra minutes, or carpool with someone else coming.
7:30PM on the day of the session, or earlier if all 48 slots fill before then. Team selection in the sheet closes at 7:45PM.
Capacity is 48 players. If you miss the deadline or the session fills, message the KDA WhatsApp community — if there's still room we'll open a waitlist and add you. Drop-outs happen most weeks.
Cash at the venue before you play, or online by bank transfer or DuitNow QR before the session.
Either way, see any committee member to be checked in: Darren Robin, Kendra Sim, Ryshaune Lee, Sofea Idayah, Adriana Leja, Brian Chin, Lee Yang, Arthur William, Tisha Ai, Eiss Arina, Adam Jaboh, Rofina Rhodea or Hadif Aiman. If you paid online, have your receipt ready to show them.
Yes — an email confirmation goes out after you submit the form. Show that email or your payment receipt when you arrive.
Fill in the cancellation form before 7:30PM on the day of the session. That lets us give your spot to someone on the waitlist — though it's checked manually by KDA Admin, so it isn't instant. You can read the complete Drop-In Session policy for all registration, payment and cancellation rules.
If you paid cash, nothing's been collected yet at that point, so there's nothing to refund — your slot is just released. If you paid online, you get a full refund within 24 to 48 hours. From 7:30PM onward, or if you don't show up, there's no refund and a RM10 charge applies, payable next time you attend on top of that session's normal fee.
You choose your preferred Social or Competitive team in the RSVP sheet. When you arrive, the committee will call out your name and team, then direct you to the correct court.
We recommend the Social Court to newcomers and fairly new players, but places are not prioritised by experience. The number of teams and court arrangement may change depending on final registration numbers. The committee will explain any adjustments before play begins.
The competitive court is high-intensity and suits intermediate to advanced players who want to be tested. Expect aggressive play and faster throws.
The Social Court keeps things relaxed. Experienced players can simply come to chill and enjoy the games; helping newer players is welcome, but never expected.
Yes. Committee members run check-in, referee games and handle any issues on the night. Complaints are dealt with promptly under our code of conduct.
We photograph and film sessions for Instagram and the website. Tell a committee member if you'd rather not appear and we'll respect that.
Ask any committee member on the night. Darren Robin, Kendra Sim, Ryshaune Lee, Sofea Idayah, Adriana Leja, Brian Chin, Lee Yang, Arthur William, Tisha Ai, Eiss Arina, Adam Jaboh, Rofina Rhodea and Hadif Aiman can help. If it turns up after you've left, we'll hold onto it; email us to arrange getting it back.
Tell a committee member straight away, however minor it seems. There's a first-aid kit at the venue; for anything beyond minor first aid, we'll call for medical help. See the liability waiver for how this works in full.
KDA doesn't provide personal accident or medical insurance for participants. If you'd like that cover, arrange your own before you play.
Mainly if Arena Sukan itself is unavailable, on a public holiday, or if the haze/API reaches an unsafe level. We'll post to the KDA WhatsApp community and this website as early as we can.
